Visitor Guidelines
We welcome supporters who wish to visit our charity partners and see the work firsthand. These visits can be meaningful and help strengthen transparency, but they must be conducted with respect, sensitivity, and responsibility.
Respect and Dignity
Responsible Sharing
- Always treat individuals and families with respect
- Do not portray anyone in a way that is degrading or intrusive
- Remember that those receiving support are not subjects of charity, but individuals with dignity
If you choose to share your visit:
- Present information accurately and respectfully
- Avoid exaggeration or misrepresentation
- Focus on the purpose of the visit and the work being done
Privacy and Consent
We welcome supporters to share their experiences and may feature selected updates on our Facebook page to help inform and inspire others.
- Ask for permission before taking photos or videos
- Avoid sharing identifying details (full names, personal history) without clear consent
- Be especially cautious when interacting with:
children
individuals with disabilities
those who are ill or vulnerable
Cultural Awareness
- Be mindful of local customs and cultural norms
- Dress appropriately for the setting
- Approach interactions with humility and openness
Appropriate Conduct
Our Shared Goal
- Follow the guidance of local partners and site leaders
- Do not interfere with daily operations or care routines
- Avoid making promises or commitments on behalf of VSV
These guidelines are in place to ensure that visits:
- support transparency
- protect the privacy and dignity of those we serve
- strengthen trust between donors, partners, and communities
By following these principles, we can create a system where transparency is not only visible — but also ethical and respectful.
